The mission of Restoration Pastoral Counseling is to provide affordable, accessible, high quality pastoral counseling and education to individuals, couples, families and groups.  There are several ways to support this mission:

1.  Pray

Please pray for the center, for the counselor, for the supporting church and for all those in the midst of counseling.

2.  Refer

Referrals to RPCC are always welcome.  They may be directed to David Bailey: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 334-745-3421. Also, if you are a member of Sunday School classes, Bible studies or other groups which might be interested in having David speak on counseling related topics, such invitations are welcome.

3.  Financial Giving

RPCC seeks to offer counseling services even to those who are unable to meet the requested $50 per session donation.  To that end, the Restoration Pastoral Counseling Scholarship fund is set up through First Presbyterian Church.  Any support towards bringing high quality counseling services to a wider section of people is appreciated.  Contributions are tax deductible.  If you are interested contact the FPC office at 334-745-3421.

About

It seems that the American credo generally and the Southern way particularly is "‘pick yourself up by your bootstraps’ and start living a better life."  Unfortunately, that type of thinking results in Christians who feel like they have to put on happy faces and pretend that everything in their families, their marriages and their individual lives is perfect.  Under the surface, however, most of us are struggling and hurting in profound ways, and thankfully Jesus invites those who are weary and burdened to come to him for rest—not those who have it all together. Therefore, Restoration Pastoral Counseling exists not only to address the surface behavioral issues in a person’s life, but also to work hard at integrating psychology and theology in a way that taps into the core struggles of his or her heart.  In so doing, RPC aims for clients to experience the safety of God’s presence and the freedom of the gospel in ways they never have before, even in the face of the following challenges:

  • Abuse and neglect recovery (Physical, Sexual, Verbal)
  • Addiction
  • Anger
  • Anxiety, fear and worry
  • Career and vocation
  • Depression
  • Divorce
  • Family issues
  • Grief and loss
  • Identity issues
  • Marital and premarital issues
  • Relational struggles
  • Sexuality
  • Spiritual concerns and faith questions
  • Stress

Staff

A native of Auburn, Pastoral Counselor David Bailey graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando with Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Counseling degrees.  Therefore, he is uniquely gifted and trained to provide soul care from a Scriptural perspective that considers the physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions of life’s challenges.

Fees

First Presbyterian Church Opelika suggests a donation of $30.00 – 50.00 per 50 minute session (depending on your financial situation) for individual, couple and family pastoral counseling sessions.    100% of these donations go to the support of Restoration Pastoral Counseling and its staff.
