About

It seems that the American credo generally and the Southern way particularly is "‘pick yourself up by your bootstraps’ and start living a better life."  Unfortunately, that type of thinking results in Christians who feel like they have to put on happy faces and pretend that everything in their families, their marriages and their individual lives is perfect.  Under the surface, however, most of us are struggling and hurting in profound ways, and thankfully Jesus invites those who are weary and burdened to come to him for rest—not those who have it all together. Therefore, Restoration Pastoral Counseling exists not only to address the surface behavioral issues in a person’s life, but also to work hard at integrating psychology and theology in a way that taps into the core struggles of his or her heart.  In so doing, RPC aims for clients to experience the safety of God’s presence and the freedom of the gospel in ways they never have before, even in the face of the following challenges:

  • Abuse and neglect recovery (Physical, Sexual, Verbal)
  • Addiction
  • Anger
  • Anxiety, fear and worry
  • Career and vocation
  • Depression
  • Divorce
  • Family issues
  • Grief and loss
  • Identity issues
  • Marital and premarital issues
  • Relational struggles
  • Sexuality
  • Spiritual concerns and faith questions
  • Stress

Fees

The cost of each individual or family session is based on the following sliding scale:

Household income less than $40,000 per year = $40.00 per session

Household income between $40,000-60,000 per year = $55.00 per session

Household income above $60,000 per year = $70.00 per session

Restoration Pastoral Counseling Center, as a ministry of First Presbyterian Church Opelika, does not want money to be a barrier to anyone seeking help.  Therefore, there are scholarships available to those who need financial assistance.
