Rev. Scott Bowen, Pastor

Scott came to FPC in January of 2007 upon graduation from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, MA. Prior to seminary, he served in youth ministry at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga, TN. Originally from Nashville, TN., Scott graduated from the University of North Carolina in 2000. He is married to Amanda Bowen, and they have two sons and a daughter. Scott is currently working on a DMin degree from Reformed Theological Seminary.

Rev. David Bailey, Assistant Pastor

David came to FPC in August of 2009.  He grew up in Auburn before attending Davidson College and Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando.  At RTS, David received his Masters of Divinity as well as his Masters in Counseling, both of which he utilizes in his ministry at FPC.  David serves part time as assistant pastor and also as a counselor in private practice to the East Alabama area (About Restoration).  David is married to Lori, who grew up in Montgomery before graduating from Auburn.  They have two sons.

Shane Martin, Director of Worship

Shane, with his wife Andrea and their 4 kids, moved to Opelika in July 2011.  Prior to joining the First Pres staff, he moved to Nashville when he was 20 years old and lived there for 13 years. Shane worked for Sony and Pamplin Music as staff writer, toured as a guitar player for artists such as LaRue, SheDaisy and many others; and was a full time session player before moving to Charlotte where he was the Director of Worship at Uptown Presbyterian Church.  His vision for ministry is to use his gifts and talents to lead God’s people in biblical, gospel-driven worship that glorifies God, transcends style, edifies the church and evangelizes the unbeliever through music and the arts.
