Starting on Sunday, August 20, we will have a new Sunday morning schedule. The worship services will begin at 9:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. We will no longer have Sunday School classes between the services, instead we will have Fellowship Groups meeting at the same time as the worship services. The Fellowship Groups will meet for the same length of time as the worship service—1 hour 15 minutes—and will provide opportunities for fellowship, for prayer for one another, and for engagement in the study material chosen by each group. Our goal for the Fellowship Groups is to foster community in the church body through interacting with one another, studying God’s Word together, and praying for one another as we grow in our relationship with each other and with God.
The Fellowship Groups will be generally divided by stage in life, but this in no way limits which group you attend. You are free to commit to any group you would like. The choice is yours! Temporarily these groups are labeled as you see below, but each Fellowship Group will choose their own name on or after August 20.
On Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. there will be two Fellowship Groups:
- 4:12 (1 Timothy 4:12): This group is open to anyone, but would generally include adults in their late teens to early 20’s, who are college students, single adults, and young married couples without children. This group will be doing the series by Paul Tripp called, “Jonah: You Can’t Outrun Grace”, and you can check out the trailer here. This class will meet in the living room of the White House.
- Sojourners: This group is open to anyone, but would generally include single and married adults who desire intergenerational community and who do not have children involved in Children’s Sunday school or the Youth Fellowship Group. This group will be doing a series by Tim Keller called, “Generosity: How God’s Radical Grace Makes Us Givers”. This class will meet in the Fellowship Hall.
On Sunday mornings at 10:45 a.m. there will be two Fellowship Groups:
- Group 116 (Romans 1:16): This group is open to anyone, but would generally include single and married adults in their 20’s and 30’s. Parents in this group would likely have infants through elementary-age children. This group will be doing the marriage series by Francis Chan called, “You and Me Forever: Marriage in Light of Eternity”, and you can see the trailer here. This class will meet in the Fellowship Hall.
- Cornerstone: This group is open to anyone, but would generally include single and married adults in their 40’s and 50’s. Parents in this group would likely have pre-teen or teenage children. This group will be doing a series by David Platt called, “A Global Gospel in a World of Religions”, and you can see the trailer here. This class will meet in the living room of the White House.
Children’s Sunday school and the Youth Fellowship Group will also meet at 10:45 am. Click here for more information on how this new Sunday morning schedule will play out for children, youth, and families.
We look forward to having you join us on August 20 for one of the new Fellowship Groups and for Sunday morning worship. Our hope is that our time together on Sunday mornings will foster ever deeper community and spiritual growth for our church body. If you any questions about these changes, please do not hesitate to contact the church office by or phone at 334-745-3421.
